ASPA Broadens Committee

The professional organisation for Scottish Public Affairs practitioners has moved to broaden its committee membership to ensure colleagues from the voluntary sector have a continuing voice in its work.

At its AGM, the Association for Scottish Public Affairs, ASPA, welcomed Lindsay Scott to its steering Committee.

Lindsay, who is Communications Officer for Help the Aged in Scotland, has worked for many years in a variety of communications roles with Scottish voluntary organisations.

Welcoming Lindsay’s election, convener John Macgill told the AGM that it was important that ASPA continued to serve public affairs people wherever they work:

“Scotland has a diverse public affairs sector with people using their policy communication skills in all sorts of companies, consultancies and organisations.

"As the only body created in Scotland for Scottish Public Affairs, it is important that we continue to reflect the needs of everyone in public affairs, not just those working in consultancies or in-house. With Lindsay’s election to the Committee we have taken another step in ensuring ASPA remains relevant to the broad cross section of people who are our members.”
